What this is
DepositAdvisor is in early testing. The core tools work — item appraisal, letter assessment, and follow-up questions — but the product is not yet complete. You may encounter rough edges.
England only
All guidance is scoped to England's deposit protection framework. If you are in Scotland, Wales, or Northern Ireland, the guidance may not apply to your situation.
What we collect
We collect anonymised usage data to understand how the product is being used and where it needs improvement. Specifically:
- ✓ Which tool you used (item appraisal, letter assessment, or Q&A)
- ✓ Which claim category you selected
- ✓ The amount being claimed
- ✓ The assessment verdict (fair, questionable, or unlikely to stand)
- ✓ How long the assessment took
- ✓ Whether you clicked the upgrade prompt
- ✓ Whether you created an account
- ✓ Errors that occurred during your session
What we do not collect
- ✗ The text of any letter you paste
- ✗ The description of any item you enter
- ✗ Any question you ask
- ✗ Your name, address, or any identifying information beyond your email address if you create an account
Your data
Data collected during the beta period will be used only to improve the product. It will not be shared with third parties. You can request deletion of your account and associated data by emailing hello@depositadvisor.co.uk.
